Predominantly, I am drawn to art that is very feminine, slightly whimsical and nature-inspired. I thought that today I should profile an artist I admire that is the complete opposite of those things - British artist, Sarah Morris. Morris studied semiotics (interpreting the world through symbols) at Brown University and uses her multimedia skills to create art that pays homage to urban life. She uses household paint to create her paintings of buildings (the bottom left painting above is her interpretation of Caesar's in Las Vegas).

Morris's canvas has expanded into temporary installations - pictured below is a gloss painting on the ground-level ceiling of the Lever House building in midtown Manhattan.
